“ABOLISH the Clean Energy Fund.”
Active verb
ABOLISH is red in Ellie’s edition. It appears 17 times—the most frequent command in the list.
In plain English
Dismantle the federal government’s new clean-energy investment vehicle. The original list used the shorthand “Clean Energy Fund”; the institution established in 2012 was the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC).
What happened?
The Abbott government introduced legislation to abolish the CEFC. The Senate rejected abolition bills in December 2013 and again in June 2014. The CEFC survived.
Current policy record
On 26 August 2026 the Coalition proposed preventing CEFC finance from supporting purchases of productive farmland for carbon-credit projects, after controversy over the CEFC-backed Rushy Lagoon project in Tasmania. This concerns what the CEFC should finance, not renewed abolition.
Evidence status
The abolition attempts, CEFC’s continued existence and the August 2026 positions are confirmed. Calling the farmland-finance dispute a thematic continuation is an interpretation, not evidence of IPA direction.
